Graduate Fellow Brian Smith Published in Polity
We are pleased to announce that Tocqueville Forum Graduate Fellow Brian Smith's essay, "Edmund Burke, the Warren Hastings Trial, and the Moral Dimension of Corruption," has appeared in the current issue of Polity (January 2008). Polity is the quarterly journal of the Northeastern Political Science Association and publishes work in all fields of political science. Brian now serves as the Forum's first Jack Miller Postdoctoral Fellow.
"Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."
