Tocqueville Forum Appoints Associate Director

The Tocqueville Forum is very pleased to announce the appointment of Steven J. Brust as Associate Director. Steven comes to us from The Catholic University of America where he was a Visiting Professor teaching political theory. In addition to his academic background in philosophy and politics, he has worked as Administrative Director for a non-profit public interest law firm and as a Business and Project Manager for other organizations. As Associate Director, Steven will help plan, organize and direct the operations and events of the Tocqueville Forum, furthering its overall growth in order to fulfill its mission to educate students, alumni, faculty and interested members of the greater Washington D.C. community about the founding principles of the United States and the two main roots of American democracy, Western political philosophy and the Judeo-Christian Biblical tradition. We are glad to welcome him aboard.

"Freedom sees religion as the companion of its struggles and triumphs, the cradle of its infancy, and the divine source of its rights. Religion is considered as the guardian of mores, and mores are regarded as the guarantee of laws..."

- Alexis de Tocqueville
