Hear the 3rd Annual Carroll Lecture Online
The 3rd Annual John Carroll Lecture is now posted online in streaming audio. Dr. Daniel J. Robinson, Distinguish Research Professor, Emeritus, here at Georgetown University, and a member of the Philosophy Faculty in Oxford, gave a stirring lecture on "Education for Ordered Liberty: The Founders' Conception of Civic Life" on December 3, 2008. This was his first public lecture at Georgetown, since he retired from the faculty, 25 years ago.
The Carroll Lecture series is named for Georgetown University founder Bishop John Carroll, S.J., in honor of his dedication to creating a Catholic institution that contributes to the political, cultural and educational life of America.
"The greatness of America lies not in being more enlightened than any other nation, but rather in her ability to repair her faults."
