CALL FOR PAPERS
Conference Overview
On behalf of Professor Robert P. George and Professor Patrick Deneen, Undergraduate Fellows of the Tocqueville Forum are invited to submit academic papers for the second annual Conference on the American Polity to be held March 28, 2009 at Princeton University.
This conference is an opportunity for undergraduate students to present original research on the principles, ideals and institutions of the American polity. The focus of the conference is intentionally broadly conceived so that students of both political policy and theory should feel welcome to submit papers. Chapters of theses, independent work, and course research papers are allow to be submitted. The conference will follow a consultation format, with each student formally presenting his or her research and arguments (25 minutes), followed by Q/A and discussion among a panel of faculty and other student presenters.
Guidelines
Papers should be submitted in PDF format, double spaced, and should be no longer than 15 pages in length. Submissions will be held to graduate level academic standards. Please email submissions to Margaret Perry at tocquevilleforum@georgetown.edu.
Paper submissions must be received 12:00 noon, Friday, March 6, 2009.
Students will be notified by March 12, 2009.
All Tocqueville Forum Fellows are allowed to attend regardless of their participation as a presenter. You must notify Margaret by March 6, 2009, if you wish to attend.
