Accepting Applications for Jack Miller Center Post-Doctoral Fellowship
March 10 2009 The Tocqueville Forum on the Roots of American Democracy in the Department of Government at Georgetown University invites applications for an anticipated Jack Miller Center Post-Doctoral fellowship beginning in August 2009 for a two year period.
The Post-Doc appointment is contingent on the position being fully funded. Salary range is $36,000 - $50,000 with University benefits for each year covering the 2009-2010 and 2010-11 Academic Years.
The successful candidate will have a teaching and research agenda focused on America’s political philosophy, founding principles, and history, congruent with the mission of the Jack Miller Center and the Tocqueville Forum. The post-doctoral fellow will be expected to maintain an active research and scholarly agenda and teach a 2-1 course load in the University’s Government major during each of the academic years. In addition, the post-doctoral fellow may be asked to assist in other Tocqueville Forum programs. The fellow will also be required to give a public lecture in the spring semesters based on his/her research. Candidates must have documented evidence (including letters from their dissertation committee) that they will have a Ph.D. in hand by July 1, 2009.
