Highlights from the 2024 Institute
The PS-PSI 2024 brought 18 sophomores, juniors, and seniors in college considering a PhD in political science to the Georgetown campus.
Students had the opportunity to engage with fellow undergraduates who share similar academic interests, while networking with faculty and graduate students, The program introduced participants to the fundamental goals, key subfields, and research methods of political science. They gained insight into the PhD application process, explored the daily life of a graduate student, and learned about the wide range of career paths available to political science PhDs. In addition, students presented their own research ideas and received feedback during small group sessions, while also working on their graduate application materials with the guidance of experienced mentors and ambassadors. Lastly, the week concluded with a memorable dinner at the historic Riggs Library, offering students a chance to celebrate their experience in a unique and inspiring setting.
