Meet the Program

Healy Lawn

There are several ways to connect with Georgetown University and the MA program in Democracy and Governance before applying.

Events

The Democracy and Governance Program hosts several events throughout the semester that provide opportunities for you to better understand what our program is about and to meet individual faculty and students. Subscribe to our prospective students mailing list or follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay informed of these opportunities.

Informational Interviews:
This is a useful way for you to tell us about yourself and for you to learn more about our program and the admissions process. To schedule an on-campus interview please contact our program administrator at democracystudies@georgetown.edu or at (202)-687-0596. You are invited to attend classes during your visit to Georgetown.

Class Visits:
You are invited to attend classes during your visit to Georgetown. You should review the Recent Course Offerings to see what might be of interest to you. Please arrive at the classroom a few minutes early to let the professor know that you will attend class and plan on staying until the end or a scheduled break. Please also act as an observer rather than a participant.

Coffee with a Current Student:
To hear more about life at Georgetown and our program we suggest you schedule a coffee meeting with one of our current students during your visit. Please look to our Current Students to see if there is someone in particular you would like to meet. Contact us: democracystudies@georgetown.edu

Graduate School Fairs:
The MA Program in Democracy and Governance regularly attends graduate school fairs hosted by Idealist.org. If you cannot come and meet us in Washington D.C., we encourage you to meet us at one of these events.
