On November 1, 2019, the United Nations Department of Peace Operations released an updated Policy on the “Protection of Civilians in United Nations Peacekeeping,” 20 years after the UN Security Council approved the first Protection of Civilians mandate for UN peacekeepers. Come discuss the past, present and future of civilian protection with experts from government, think tanks, academia, and advocacy networks.
