Founded in 2002, the Center for Democracy and Civil Society (CDACS) is dedicated to original research, policy advocacy, and international partnerships. Through the activities of our renowned faculty and our MA program’s student body, CDACS has conducted survey research on civic values in the United States, published articles in scholarly and popular journals, consulted major governmental organizations, and collaborated with international partners on numerous projects.
Democracy & Society Online is the blog of the Center for Democracy & Civil Society at Georgetown University. The blog joins academics and practitioners from the democracy and governance field to engage on current topics as they relate to political theory.

More About the SymposiumDemocracy Minute is a series of videos that explores the research and opinion of our faculty and students on a variety of issues related to elections, human rights, and governance in countries and regions across the world. In these short videos which we will be releasing over the next few years, we question the in-house experts of the Democracy and Governance Program on recent geopolitical events, and they provide us with the background of the phenomenon, its implications, and potential future developments.
